The 14th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival is set to get under way. For those who are new to the event, we present a quick Q&A to help navigate the week long event: <strong>When does the Dubai International Film Festival run? </strong> The date for this year’s edition will run from December 6-13. <strong>Where are the films being shown in Dubai?</strong> The cinemas participating are Souk Arena Theatre/Arena, Vox Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates and Galleria Mall in Jumeirah, and JBR Beach. <strong>Which movies should I get excited for? </strong> There are 140 films that are going to be shown during Diff. They include the Venice Film Festival Golden Lion winner <em>The Shape of Water </em>by Guillermo del Toro (Dec 10) as well as <em>Star Wars: The Last Jedi</em> (Dec 13). Here are our picks for the five most anticipated movies set to show: <strong>What's the schedule for the films?</strong> The schedule for the entire festival <a href="https://dubaifilmfest.com/en/schedule.html">can be found here</a>. <strong>How can I get tickets for the films I want to see? </strong> You can buy your film ticket by visiting the Diff website (<a href="http://www.diff.ae">www.diff.ae</a>) and clicking on 'Tickets & Shop'. The films will be listed by date and time. Some are free while others are invitation only. For films you need to buy tickets to, the regular price is Dh35 while Gala prices range from Dh60-100. <strong>Which films are free? </strong> Any film being shown at JBR Beach will be free. The outdoor cinema will not only host film screenings but panels and Q&As as well. <strong>Will I be able to meet any celebrities? </strong> Diff tends to draw an impressive crowd to the red carpet. Usually celebrities can be spotted on the red carpet at Madinat Arena in Jumeirah. You will need tickets to be on the red carpet. However, don't fret, those without tickets might still be able to catch a glimpse of their favourite star from the public area.
