Emirati singer Ahlam Al Shamsi will perform in Abha in Saudi Arabia on August 13, during the Eid Al Adha holidays, as part of the Al Soudah season of events in the Asir province of Saudi Arabia. Tickets went on sale yesterday, and they range from 200 to 1,000 Saudi riyal. Al Shamsi, who is often referred to as 'the Queen' due to her immense popularity, will perform in the Talal Maddah theatre in Abha. Abha is an elevated city and so has a lovely fresh climate all year. The city is situated on Al Soudah mountain, which is one of the Kingdom's highest peaks, with an elevation of around 3,000 metres. The Al Soudah season was announced earlier this month, promising a month full of entertainment events and activities. You can buy tickets here. Ahlam, who has a huge fan base across the Gulf region and was a judge on Arab Idol, is the first singer to be announced for the season. Nature lovers who visit for the Emirati's performance will get the chance to participate in different hiking trails around Al Soudah Mountain, and can enjoy the famously picturesque southwest city of Abha, which is the capital of the Asir province. The season will also host a spartan race and will offer paragliding and bungee jumping activities. Al Soudah mountain will not be the only mountainous area to host a season of events in Saudi Arabia this summer. Also in August is Al Taif Season. Al Taif is a mountainous city in the Makkah province known for its flowers, called the al ward al taifi, which have a strong scent, and create famous perfumes. These two cities are always considered a summer gateway for Saudi residents due to their cooler weather. The full programme for Al Taif season has not been announced yet; but there will be a Color Run, a world orchestra performance, and guided hiking trips. The season will also host the Souk Okaz festival in the 1,400-year-old market that is known for hosting poetry competitions, which will happen again during the festival. These two seasons are just part of the 12 Saudi seasons festivals spread across the country, and all taking place in different months. The flurry of seasons started last March, and will carry on until 2020, with each season lasting anywhere from two to 11 weeks. After the above two seasons, Riyadh will be the next host in October. Currently running is the Jeddah season, which has drawn a lot of crowds thanks to its long list of activities and concerts, including K-pop band Super Junior, Marshmello, Kadim Al Sahir, Tamer Hosny, as well as Ahlam Al Shamsi, who is performing in Abha.
