It's all coming Byblos to me now: Is Celine Dion coming to Lebanon next year?

The region is set to feel the power of Celine Dion's love next year, according to Byblos Festival. The Lebanese music event has teased clues that suggest the Canadian powerhouse singer will perform at next year's festival. The event's official Instagram account posted a photo on Tuesday that showed a message scrawled across a bulb-adorned mirror in bright red lipstick. "See you soon Beirut! Love Celine," the text read. While the festival didn't tag the Think Twice singer, Dion posted an almost identical shot on her own Instagram page just two days earlier, that showed the same handwriting and signature written on the same mirror. "See you soon," Dion's message said, with the same phrase then written in several languages, including French, Italian and German – though not Arabic. The 51-year-old Grammy winner announced her new tour, entitled Courage, back in April, to tie in with her latest album of the same name, which will be released in November. It will be Dion's first English album in six years, after Loved Me Back to Life. No date has yet been confirmed for her rumoured Byblos gig. The festival takes place in the city about an hour north of Beirut; exact dates for its 2020 edition have not yet been released, but Byblos typically hosts a pair of concerts each weekend throughout July and August. The Courage tour officially kicked off in Quebec, Canada, last week, with extensive dates around North America until next April listed on Dion's website. “It’s going to be the Celine that you know,” she said of the upcoming album when announcing it on-stage earlier this year. “Celine at 51. The Celine that you know. The Celine with producers and writers she’s worked with. It’s the Celine with new producers and new songwriters ... The sound will change a little bit, and music changes. But I will always remain who I am.” While Dion has not performed in Lebanon during her extensive career, she has championed the work of the nation's designers on many occasions. Regularly sporting labels such as Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab and Maison Rabih Kayrouz, the My Heart Will Go On vocalist has shone a spotlight on the region's style talent over the years. So will she be sporting one of the country's designers on stage at Byblos? We'll have to wait and see.
