Oprah Winfrey is back in the book club business, modified for the digital age. Oprah's Book Club 2.0 begins tomorrow with Cheryl Strayed's memoir Wild. Along with the traditional paper book, special e-editions will be available that include Winfrey's comments. The new club, announced on Friday by Winfrey's OWN network, will test whether she still has clout with readers. She made best-sellers out of countless books with her previous club. * AP
Madonna to wear Jean Paul Gaultier tonight
Madonna will be wearing an outfit designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for her MDNA tour - a cage-like bustier over a white shirt and black tie. About his inspiration, the French haute couture designer said in a statement: "We played with the ideas of a suit and a corset. What I have done is a nod to the conical bra of the Blond Ambition tour, but reinterpreted it in 3D, in patent leather on the outside and metallic leather inside."
Emirati filmmaker directs shorts for MBC1
Attendees at the Gulf Film Festival in April had the chance for a first glimpse, but now Nayla Al Khaja's short films, produced in conjunction with Nivea, are being shown on TV. The Emirati director turned three love stories - chosen from more than 1,400 submitted - into short films, which are now being shown weekly on MBC1's daily morning show Sabah Al Khair Ya Arab. Viewers are invited to select their favourite by voting online from June 20 to July 4 at www.nivea-me.com/sensualmusk. One of the shorts, Lamha (Glimpse), already earned Al Khaja a Special Mention award in the Official Gulf Shorts Competition in April's film festival. * Alex Ritman
Andy Samberg leaving SNL
The actor and comedian Andy Samberg is leaving Saturday Night Live. His publicist said on Friday he won't return as a cast member next season. Samberg's exit follows that of SNL's other lead cast member Kristen Wiig last month. "Kristen kept saying it just feels like it's her time," Samberg told the New York Times. "I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it's the moment." Like other Saturday Night Live alumni, Samberg will be seen on the big screen. His new movie with Adam Sandler, That's My Boy, is set for a June 15 release. * AP
Jessica Chastain to help hand out Tonys
Jessica Chastain, Nick Jonas, Amanda Seyfried and Jim Parsons are some of the stars tipped to help the host Neil Patrick Harris hand out the Tony Awards on June 10. Organisers unveiled a list of presenters on Friday that also includes Paul Rudd, Ellen Barkin, Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters, Candice Bergen, Christopher Plummer and James Marsden. Chastain will be making her Broadway debut this autumn in The Heiress, a play based on the Henry James novel Washington Square. * AP

10 tips for entry-level job seekers
- Have an up-to-date, professional LinkedIn profile. If you don’t have a LinkedIn account, set one up today. Avoid poor-quality profile pictures with distracting backgrounds. Include a professional summary and begin to grow your network.
- Keep track of the job trends in your sector through the news. Apply for job alerts at your dream organisations and the types of jobs you want – LinkedIn uses AI to share similar relevant jobs based on your selections.
- Double check that you’ve highlighted relevant skills on your resume and LinkedIn profile.
- For most entry-level jobs, your resume will first be filtered by an applicant tracking system for keywords. Look closely at the description of the job you are applying for and mirror the language as much as possible (while being honest and accurate about your skills and experience).
- Keep your CV professional and in a simple format – make sure you tailor your cover letter and application to the company and role.
- Go online and look for details on job specifications for your target position. Make a list of skills required and set yourself some learning goals to tick off all the necessary skills one by one.
- Don’t be afraid to reach outside your immediate friends and family to other acquaintances and let them know you are looking for new opportunities.
- Make sure you’ve set your LinkedIn profile to signal that you are “open to opportunities”. Also be sure to use LinkedIn to search for people who are still actively hiring by searching for those that have the headline “I’m hiring” or “We’re hiring” in their profile.
- Prepare for online interviews using mock interview tools. Even before landing interviews, it can be useful to start practising.
- Be professional and patient. Always be professional with whoever you are interacting with throughout your search process, this will be remembered. You need to be patient, dedicated and not give up on your search. Candidates need to make sure they are following up appropriately for roles they have applied.
