Veteran Bollywood actor and Twitter funnyman Rishi Kapoor gave fans a glimpse of himself as a cuddly daadu (grandfather) in Karan Johar's upcoming family drama, Kapoor & Sons.
Kapoor, 63, tweeted: “Kapoor & Sons. First look of mine in the film. Others to follow. Await!!” along with a photograph of himself in character, in which he looks at least 20 years older. He stars alongside Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra, Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah.
Kapoor’s followers, who number 781,000 on Twitter, responded enthusiastically, heaping praises on the versatile actor who is known to embrace experimentation with his roles in the past, but this time, he seems to be positively revelling in surprising fans with an extreme makeover.
Bhatt also joined in the fun on Twitter, calling him the cutest member of the Kapoor & Sons family.
Earlier, producer Johar tweeted out an image of the film’s poster, which shows Bhatt, Khan and Malhotra in a tangle of fairy lights.
The film is directed by Shakun Batra and is due to be released in the UAE on March 17.
