Film lovers in Abu Dhabi will be able to attend a pop-up drive-in cinema later this week. Hudayriyat Island will play host to the two-day event which is part of the Abu Dhabi Moments initiative, designed to promote inclusion and build a sense of community through events across the capital. There will be four free screenings set to take place on Thursday, November 7 and Friday, November 8. The screenings will begin on Thursday, with a showing of '90s classic Sleepless in Seattle at 7pm, followed by a screening of critically-acclaimed The Dark Knight at 11pm. Friday's showings will start with The Great Gatsby at 7pm, with sci-fi Interstellar closing the event at 11pm. Those who don’t want to watch from their car can take a seat in the lounge viewing area, which will have blankets and pillows for guests. There will also be a number of snacks and drinks on offer for people to order directly to their cars. Abu Dhabi Moments is an initiative from the Department of Community Development, and has already seen a number of one-off events take place in the capital.
