The website dubbed the Arab woman's ultimate how-to guide, www.anaZahra.com, today unveiled a fresh new look, more in-depth features and a range of new categories focused on the site's most-read topics. Available online in Arabic for the past two years, the website has more than 1.2 million unique visitors and 23 million page views monthly. One of the biggest changes is a tool allowing registered users to customise profiles and prioritise news and content to their personal interests. Hala Al Gergawi, anaZahra's editor-in-chief, says the portal reflects the aspirations of modern Arab women and empowers them to realise their ambitions. She says in addition to design and content changes, the site's voice has also altered, with "the main purpose being to empower the editors, allowing them to write more, discuss broader issues and include more detail". The site is also offering original video content. "If the videos are in the fashion section they'll show catwalk shows, with the beauty section people can see demonstrations of how to braid their hair, apply make-up in the latest way and so on," she says. "And because we have new sections and subsections, including topics such as movie and book reviews, theatre and art exhibition recommendations - our content is aimed at all types of women." www.anaZahra.com is owned by Abu Dhabi Media, also owner of www.thenational.ae
