On Friday, March 27, guests can indulge in a five-course tasting menu with top quality cuts of Master Kobe beef, known for its smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Michelin-starred chef Henrik Yde-Andersen is headed back to Abu Dhabi for one week in April. The chef — who owns Kiin Kiin in Denmark, one of only two Michelin-starred Thai restaurants in the world — will be taking over Pachaylen at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara during Anantara Gourmet 2015 — the hotel group’s first gourmet food festival. Andersen will prepare a four-course tasting menu featuring his famous Thai flavours with a modern twist. Dishes are to include prawn noodles served with tamarind, lemongrass and edible chopsticks; a snowball salad with squid and green chilli sauce; and a flower-inspired dessert called Flowers of Thailand. The dessert features 29 individual ingredients including rose, tulip and orchid. The dinners, held nightly from April 11 — 15 are Dh350 per person. You can also catch a live lunch demonstration on Monday, April 13 to watch Andersen make his prawn noodle dish and Flowers of Thailand dessert. After a successful debut at the Abu Dhabi Food Festival, the Burster Tail promotion at The Forge steakhouse in the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is back — and will now be available every Saturday afternoon at The Forge. The promotion’s name comes from what’s served: burgers, lobster and cocktails. The burgers on offer include Angus and Wagyu beef. Among the lobster dishes are lobster rolls, lobster sautéed Al ajillo and grilled lobster. Also at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is a new one-day only Bread ’n Go pop-up concept. The event will appeal to bread-lovers who want some unique freshly baked breads for a home-cooked Thursday night dinner or Friday brunch. On March 26, from 6pm until 7pm, the pop-up will offer five types of freshly baked French bread, ranging in price from Dh5 to Dh28 each. The Bread ‘n Go concept is the first in a series of pop up events at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi. The pop up will be situated in the villa chalet roundabout at the hotel.
