Clymb Abu Dhabi has taken many people to new heights, thanks to its record-breaking indoor climbing wall, but it most recently helped one couple find cloud nine. Christian Kabiling and Lorie Balaguer got engaged during a trip to the indoor adventure hub on Yas Island earlier this month. The heartwarming moment was caught on camera, as the couple, who live in Abu Dhabi, visited the attraction’s indoor skydiving flight chamber. A video catches Balaguer’s surprise and joy as she is carefully spun around by the instructor and directed towards Kabiling’s handwritten whiteboard, on which the question ‘Will you marry me?’ is written. She replies by giving an emphatic thumbs-up. As she comes out of the chamber, Kabiling is waiting on one knee with a ring. “It was our first time at Clymb Abu Dhabi and we were so excited to try out the indoor skydiving experience. When I approached the team to pop the question to Lorie, they were amazing,” he says. “They helped orchestrate the entire proposal, making it a truly unforgettable experience for both of us. The best part is Lorie didn’t suspect a thing!” Clymb Abu Dhabi has recently been recognised with two Guinness World Records for having the largest indoor skydiving wind tunnel and the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall. Measuring a towering 42.16 metres tall, the wall is the pinnacle of the purpose-built centre, which has five climbing areas in total. For thrill seekers looking to defy gravity, the 10m-wide and 54.6m-tall indoor skydiving wind tunnel is also the biggest in the world.
