Jordan has shot down a third drone flown from Syria this month, the kingdom's army has said. It follows an attack more than two weeks ago, when a drone carrying TNT explosives was intercepted. "The Border Guard forces, in co-ordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department and the military security services, detected an attempt to illegally cross the border from Syrian territory to Jordanian territory by a drone, and it was shot down inside Jordanian territory," the army said in a statement on Monday. Jordan often announces its operations against the smuggling of arms and drugs from Syria, especially Captagon, a type of amphetamine plaguing the Middle East. Drug smuggling has become "more organised" and armed groups are now using drones, Jordan said.
