Heavy rain is expected in parts of the UAE between Friday and Tuesday, October 10 to October 14, the National Centre of Meteorology warned.

Weather charts show Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain are most likely to see rain while the Windy app shows rain will begin on Sunday. The coastal cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected to stay dry.

“During this period, the country is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall, occasionally heavy at scattered intervals, affecting mainly the northern and eastern regions, extending at times to some inland and western areas, with the possibility of small hailstones in limited areas,” it said.

Temperatures are expected to drop, and windy conditions may kick up dust and sand.

September and October often bring some of the most humid conditions of the year, with some days peaking at 100 per cent humidity. This year has been relatively dry by comparison.
