Albie Morkel blasted 19 off just six balls in the Chennai Super Kings' 19-run victory against the Deccan Chargers and then admitted: "It is not easy to hit in the end overs".
Morkel hit three towering sixes — including a tournament-record 109 metres — off Ishant Sharma as Chennai scored 69 off the last five overs to finish on 165 for five.
The South African, who also took three wickets, said: "I started to practise last week, hitting balls in the middle from ball one. Lance Klusener [the former South Africa all-rounder] is one of my idols, if I can be half the player he was, I'll be happy.
"With the ball, when there is a bit of swing around, I do well, but if it goes straight it gets a bit tough."
MS Dhoni, his captain, said: "Our bowling was ordinary to start off. It is not easy when someone is willing to give away his wicket and score runs.
"But we came back well, I am happy with the runs we put on the board. We always try to set up a platform because of which we are able to score lots of runs in the last three or four overs. Albie really finished the game well.
"Lots of teams put emphasis in the last six, we look to capitalise on the last four or five overs."
Chasing Chennai's 165 for victory, Deccan could reach only 146 for eight, despite a blazing start they got from Sunny Sohal (56).
Sohal and Shikhar Dhawan, blasted 50 off just 4.2 overs including three sixes and six fours. Sohal brought up his 50 off 22 balls with another six, but Shadab Jakati broke the 71-run stand by bowling Sohal, who missed the ball while attempting a reverse sweep.
But accurate Chennai bowling left Deccan needing 48 off 30 balls, but after Doug Bollinger bowled Kumar Sangakkara (15 off 12 balls). The next two overs yielded just 15 runs leaving Jean-Paul Duminy and Cameron White to score 29 off the remaining two overs.
Morkel finished things off by dismissing the pair as Deccan could make only 146 for eight.
Sangakkara said: "Chennai batted and bowled well and did the basics better than us. They got 15-20 runs more than we were looking at. We've got another six games, it only takes a little bit to turn it around in T20."

A permit and licence is required to fly a drone legally in Dubai.
Sanad Academy is the United Arab Emirate’s first RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft) training and certification specialists endorsed by the Dubai Civil Aviation authority.
It is responsible to train, test and certify drone operators and drones in UAE with DCAA Endorsement.
“We are teaching people how to fly in accordance with the laws of the UAE,” said Ahmad Al Hamadi, a trainer at Sanad.
“We can show how the aircraft work and how they are operated. They are relatively easy to use, but they need responsible pilots.
“Pilots have to be mature. They are given a map of where they can and can’t fly in the UAE and we make these points clear in the lectures we give.
“You cannot fly a drone without registration under any circumstances.”
Larger drones are harder to fly, and have a different response to location control. There are no brakes in the air, so the larger drones have more power.
The Sanad Academy has a designated area to fly off the Al Ain Road near Skydive Dubai to show pilots how to fly responsibly.
“As UAS technology becomes mainstream, it is important to build wider awareness on how to integrate it into commerce and our personal lives,” said Major General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief, Dubai Police.
“Operators must undergo proper training and certification to ensure safety and compliance.
“Dubai’s airspace will undoubtedly experience increased traffic as UAS innovations become commonplace, the Forum allows commercial users to learn of best practice applications to implement UAS safely and legally, while benefitting a whole range of industries.”

Mercer, the investment consulting arm of US services company Marsh & McLennan, expects its wealth division to at least double its assets under management (AUM) in the Middle East as wealth in the region continues to grow despite economic headwinds, a company official said.
Mercer Wealth, which globally has $160 billion in AUM, plans to boost its AUM in the region to $2-$3bn in the next 2-3 years from the present $1bn, said Yasir AbuShaban, a Dubai-based principal with Mercer Wealth.
“Within the next two to three years, we are looking at reaching $2 to $3 billion as a conservative estimate and we do see an opportunity to do so,” said Mr AbuShaban.
Mercer does not directly make investments, but allocates clients’ money they have discretion to, to professional asset managers. They also provide advice to clients.
“We have buying power. We can negotiate on their (client’s) behalf with asset managers to provide them lower fees than they otherwise would have to get on their own,” he added.
Mercer Wealth’s clients include sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and insurance companies among others.
From its office in Dubai, Mercer also looks after Africa, India and Turkey, where they also see opportunity for growth.
Wealth creation in Middle East and Africa (MEA) grew 8.5 per cent to $8.1 trillion last year from $7.5tn in 2015, higher than last year’s global average of 6 per cent and the second-highest growth in a region after Asia-Pacific which grew 9.9 per cent, according to consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG). In the region, where wealth grew just 1.9 per cent in 2015 compared with 2014, a pickup in oil prices has helped in wealth generation.
BCG is forecasting MEA wealth will rise to $12tn by 2021, growing at an annual average of 8 per cent.
Drivers of wealth generation in the region will be split evenly between new wealth creation and growth of performance of existing assets, according to BCG.
Another general trend in the region is clients’ looking for a comprehensive approach to investing, according to Mr AbuShaban.
“Institutional investors or some of the families are seeing a slowdown in the available capital they have to invest and in that sense they are looking at optimizing the way they manage their portfolios and making sure they are not investing haphazardly and different parts of their investment are working together,” said Mr AbuShaban.
Some clients also have a higher appetite for risk, given the low interest-rate environment that does not provide enough yield for some institutional investors. These clients are keen to invest in illiquid assets, such as private equity and infrastructure.
“What we have seen is a desire for higher returns in what has been a low-return environment specifically in various fixed income or bonds,” he said.
“In this environment, we have seen a de facto increase in the risk that clients are taking in things like illiquid investments, private equity investments, infrastructure and private debt, those kind of investments were higher illiquidity results in incrementally higher returns.”
The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the largest sovereign wealth funds, said in its 2016 report that has gradually increased its exposure in direct private equity and private credit transactions, mainly in Asian markets and especially in China and India. The authority’s private equity department focused on structured equities owing to “their defensive characteristics.”

Short-term let permits explained
