Al Ahli, the Pro League football club, have signed Aristide Bance, the Burkina Faso striker, from the Bundesliga club Mainz. Christian Heidel, the Mainz managing director, said Bance wanted to leave the club for "economic and family" reasons and signed a four-year contract in Dubai. Bance scored 24 goals in 62 games for Mainz over two seasons. He has 12 international caps and two goals. Bance, who was born in Ivory Coast, has previously played in Belgium and Ukraine. He joins former World Player of the Year Fabio Cannavaro at the 2008/09 champions, who will be managed by former English Premier League coach David O'Leary. * Agencies
