Staff and players at Manchester City have undergone tests for the H1N1 virus, or swine flu, after two players were discovered with the illness. Slovakian winger Vladimir Weiss was ordered to stay at home instead of reporting for Saturday's match against Chelsea, won 2-1 by City, after he was diagnosed with the virus. City today confirmed that striker Craig Bellamy has also been suffering from the illness.
Those cases, and the fact that some staff have complained of flu-like symptoms, has prompted testing of staff members and players at the club. "There is a little bit of it creeping into the camp," the City assistant boss Mark Bowen told the Manchester Evening News. "Players come in every day with sniffles, coughs and colds and the doctor has to determine whether it is the onset of something more serious.
"It is his decision whether they have to be sent home." Although Bellamy is believed to be over the worst, he remains doubtful for Saturday's match away to Bolton as he battles to recover from a knee injury. Moment of the day When Dilruwan Perera dismissed Yasir Shah to end Pakistan’s limp resistance, the Sri Lankans charged around the field with the fevered delirium of a side not used to winning. The verdict Test matches in the UAE are known for speeding up on the last two days, but this was extreme. The first two innings of this Test took 11 sessions to complete. The remaining two were done in less than four. The nature of Pakistan’s capitulation at the end showed just how difficult the transition is going to be in the post Misbah-ul-Haq era.
