CHELSEA RATINGS: Kepa Arrizabalaga - 6. Kept the game level by making a smart save with his leg in the second minute. Denied Almiron before half time with an impressive save. EPA

Cesar Azpilicueta - 6. Struggled to contain Saint-Maximin in the first 15 minutes but improved as the match went on and limited his impact in the match. Got forward well in the second half. PA

Trevoh Chalobah - 5. Caught out of position for the Magpies opener. Displayed excellent pace and stamina to go toe-to-toe with Isak on a foot chase and come out on top in the first half. Getty

Thiago Silva - 6. Had Dubravka crawling with a heavily deflected header in the 13th minute. Made a decent block to stop Saint-Maximin’s effort from troubling Kepa. Getty

Lewis Hall - 6. Unlike against Manchester United last week, Hall wasn’t at his best. He was caught out of position on several occasions, allowing Almiron to have several attempts on goal. He improved in the second half and delivered several dangerous crosses, one of which Felix should have scored. AFP

Enzo Fernandes - 7. Tried to catch Dubravka out with a long-range effort, but the keeper was equal to it. Improved alongside his fellow midfielders in the second half as the home side took control of the game. PA

Kai Havertz - 3. The German's deficiencies as a center-forward were on full display. He repeatedly failed to provide an outlet for midfielders and wingers when they played balls into the penalty area. AFP

SUBS: Wesley Fofana (Chalobah, 46) - 7. Fofana’s entry at the start of the second half coincided with an improved defensive performance from the Blues. He helped limit the away side to only long-range attempts. Getty

Joao Felix (Havertz, 59) - 5. Couldn’t direct his effort on target after he was found at the near post by Madueke in the 82nd minute. He should have scored with the game's last shot when he rose high to meet Hall’s cross, but he failed to keep his header on target. EPA

Carney Chukwuemeka, 60) - 7. Combined very well with Madueke after coming on. Should have had an assist in the 76th minute, but Sterling failed to keep his effort on target. PA

NEWCASTLE RATINGS: Martin Dubravka - 6. Produced two brilliant saves to deny Sterling in quick succession on the stroke of half time. Made several saves in the second half to earn the away side a point. PA

Kieran Trippier - 4. Unlucky to deflect Sterling’s cross into his goal to bring the game level. Not at his best going forward on the day and struggled to deal with Sterling. AFP

Fabian Schar - 6. Began the move that led to the away side’s opener with a lovely cross-field pass into the path of Saint-Maximin. Did well to stay close to Felix and stop him from testing Dubravka in the second half. PA

Sven Botman - 6. Did well to stop a Madueke cross from finding a blue shirt with a block in the 28th minute. Excellent recovery tackle to stop Felix from running through on goal late in the game. Getty
