Not so long ago, the idea of any player reaching 100 international caps was something sacred. Today, there are more than 60 currently active players who have reached or passed that milestone. Oman midfielder Ahmed Mubarak leads the way among active players with 179 caps, five behind Ahmed Hassan, whose final game for Egypt came in 2012. Sergio Ramos won his 178th cap in Spain's stunning 6-0 win over Germany on Tuesday, while Cristiano Ronaldo collected cap No 170 in Portugal's 3-2 victory over Croatia. Ronaldo, 35, is also closing in on Ali Daei's international goals record of 109. Other notable names with over a century of appearances for their country include Lionel Messi (Argentina), Alex Sanchez (Chile), Luka Modric (Croatia), Hugo Lloris (France), Neymar (Brazil) and Ahmed Khalil (UAE).
