Godolphin are bidding for a fifth Group 1 Grosser Preis von Berlin with Walton Street at Hoppegarten in Germany on Sunday. The seven-year-old Cape Cross gelding makes his European return after three runs at Meydan, where he won a Listed Handicap and the Group 3 Dubai City before finishing fourth in the Group 1 Sheema Classic on the Dubai World Cup night. James Doyle, who rode Walton Street to victory in the Listed Godolphin Stakes in September, reunites with the Charlie Appleby-trained runner “Walton Street has enjoyed a nice break since a highly progressive time out in Dubai, where he ended up finishing fourth behind some very good horses in the Dubai Sheema Classic,” Appleby told <a href="http://godolphin.com/" target="_blank">godolphin.com</a>. “It was always in our minds to go straight for this race and he heads to Germany fresh and well. Appleby also sends out Star Safari and Creative Flair on two different continents on the same day. Star Safari aims to build on a promising European return in the Prix de Reux at Deauville in France while Creative Flair looks to transfer some strong European form to North America in the Saratoga Oaks. “We were very pleased with Star Safari’s return from a break at Newmarket following some good efforts out in Dubai,” Appleby said of the Sea The Stars gelding. “He has to carry a penalty, which makes it slightly difficult with a horse like Mogul in the field, but he should be competitive. “Creative Flair has been a very competitive filly in Europe this year and I think conditions at Saratoga are there to suit her. “She was just touched off last time at Chantilly but it was still a very good effort. If she can reproduce that performance, it should make her a live contender.”
