Ray Allen scored 25 points and five other Celtics were in double figures for the Atlantic Division leaders, who had lost seven of nine games before beginning their winning streak.

Emeka Okafor scored six of his 22 points in overtime to lift the Charlotte Bobcats to a 102-97 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, while Andre Iguodala netted 28 points as the Philadelphia 76ers had a 107-97 win over the New York Knicks.
The Dallas Mavericks had 39-points from Dirk Nowitzki to thank for their 115-108 win over the Utah Jazz, while the Los Angeles Clippers ended a 12-game losing streak with a 101-92 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.
