Al Jazira took care of business on Wednesday night and stayed six points clear atop the Arabian Gulf League table by defeating Al Ain 2-0.
But that wasn’t the only bit of business for Al Jazira on the day, as it was earlier reported by John McAuley that the club are set to poach Ahmed Khalil from Al Ahli on a four-year deal.
Khalil takes the cover for the Thursday, March 9, 2017 edition of The National.
McAuley reports:
“No matter the figures involved, Khalil’s move to Jazira represents a significant coup for the current Arabian Gulf League leaders. The frontman, 25, is a leading player for the national team, while he was voted Asian player of the year in 2015, becoming the first Emirati to win the continent’s premier individual award.
“Khalil had been discussing renewing his contact with Ahli, his boyhood club whom he has served since making his debut in 2006, but the package offered by Jazira was considerably more attractive. In 163 league appearances for Ahli in the professional era, Khalil has scored 56 goals. During that time, he has won three UAE top-flight titles, one President’s Cup and the Arabian Gulf Cup twice, while in 2015 he played an integral role in Ahli’s run to the Asian Champions League final.”
In other AGL action on Wednesday, Khalil's soon-to-be-former club Al Ahli beat Al Dhafra 2-0.

Five famous companies founded by teens
There are numerous success stories of teen businesses that were created in college dorm rooms and other modest circumstances. Below are some of the most recognisable names in the industry:
- Facebook: Mark Zuckerberg and his friends started Facebook when he was a 19-year-old Harvard undergraduate.
- Dell: When Michael Dell was an undergraduate student at Texas University in 1984, he started upgrading computers for profit. He starting working full-time on his business when he was 19. Eventually, his company became the Dell Computer Corporation and then Dell Inc.
- Subway: Fred DeLuca opened the first Subway restaurant when he was 17. In 1965, Mr DeLuca needed extra money for college, so he decided to open his own business. Electoral College Victory
Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.
