After being rescued, Buddy underwent a four-hour emergency operation in Abu Dhabi.
The dog had the bullets removed in surgery, from which he is now recovering.
Despite Buddy being left for dead, police are unable to act as there is no available evidence and no CCTV footage.
It is likely to take at least six weeks of hydrotherapy and follow-up care before Buddy will regain his mobility.
