A hiker was airlifted to hospital after falling about 100 metres from a Ras Al Khaimah mountain. The British man, 52, suffered serious head injuries and multiple fractures after falling in the Wadi Shaha area near Jebel Jais on Monday. The National Search and Rescue Centre shared images of a helicopter lineman being lowered into the wadi to recover the hiker. He was flown to Saqr Hospital, where he remained in intensive care. "This morning, the National Search and Rescue Center’s aircraft was tasked with a mission to rescue a British national in RAK mountains after he had fallen about 100m while hiking," a spokesman said. "The patient was in an inaccessible location that required a technical rescue. Advanced life support procedures were needed as the patient had sustained serious injuries. The patient was taken to Saqr hospital in RAK." A spokesman for the British Embassy said officials are in contact with a British man and his family following the accident.
