DUBAI // Attempts to smuggle 1.75 kilograms of cocaine and marijuana by hiding the drugs in Christmas card parcels have been foiled by Dubai Customs.
Inspectors found the contraband in packages that were in transit between two Asian destinations, said Omar al Muhairi, the
agency's senior manager of air cargo operations.
The marijuana was packaged in small plastic bags and the cocaine was sent in compressed squares that were hidden inside the greeting cards.
The case was referred to the Dubai police anti-narcotics department for further investigation.
