Dubai ambulance staff assisted more than 1,600 patients during the Eid Al Adha holiday, officials have said.
Medics came to the rescue of 96 people involved in traffic accidents and helped 73 patients in critical condition.
In a statement, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) said its staff were always on hand to deal with any medical emergency in the emirate.
It said it employed 1,278 qualified paramedics and drivers and had 214 vehicles working around the clock.
“Among the total number of [patients assisted], 263 had injuries resulting from general accidents and 96 were injured as a result of traffic accidents,” said Khalifa Hassan Al Darrai, the CEO of DCAS.
In total, figures showed DCAS dealt with 1,683 patients over Eid, up from 1,474 last year.
