A new streamlined digital system containing the details of thousands of private school employees has been rolled out in Abu Dhabi. The Private Schools Abu Dhabi Staff System (Pass) includes all 24,471 employees’ full credentials, including their Emirates Identification number, passport number, educational certificates, UAE certificate of equivalency and certificate of experience. It will also detail their current and former roles as well as any promotions or amendments made to their positions. Everyone from the headteacher to classroom assistants, nurses, bus drivers, security guards and cleaners are profiled in the Pass system, overseen by Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek), the emirate's private schools regulator. The scheme aims to reduce the time it takes to recruit new staff, make it to easier to teachers to move between schools in the emirate and cut down on unnecessary paperwork. “The whole idea is to ensure full credentials are available for each and every single employee who gets into contact with a student, either directly or indirectly,” said Majeda Easa Al Kait, Facilitation and Support Section Manager at Adeks Licensing Sector. “This system moves with the staff member whenever they decide to move to a new role or school, thus eradicating the need to re-enter personal credentials or upload documents once again.”
