Tickets for Dubai Expo 2020, billed by organisers as the greatest show on earth, have gone on sale for the first time. The showcase event, which is expected to draw about 25 million visitors from around the world, begins in October. On Thursday, organisers published details of ticket pricing on their website. A one-day admission for adults will cost Dh120, while students and those aged six to 17 will pay Dh60. Additionally, senior citizens, children, and those with a disability will be allowed in for free. Organisers hope Dubai Expo 2020 will put the Emirates firmly on the map as a world-leading innovator. Under the banner '<em>Connecting Minds, Creating the Future',</em> more than 190 countries will come together to display their latest in cutting-edge technology. The six-month event aims to inspire entrepreneurs as well as innovators to transform lives as creative thinkers seek to tackle issues ranging from climate change to plastic pollution. “Our once in a lifetime celebration - the largest event ever staged in the Arab world - is set to welcome millions of visitors,” organisers have said. “They will experience warm Emirati hospitality at its finest, as well as the UAE’s values of inclusion, tolerance and cooperation. “Expo 2020 aspires to create a meaningful legacy that will benefit generations to come, both locally and globally, spanning everything from innovations and architecture to friendships and business opportunities.” Dubai was announced as winning the bid to hold this year’s event back in 2013. Hundreds of fireworks filled the sky surrounding the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, as the victory was made public. Members of the public wanting to attend in October can choose from a variety of ticket options. Aside from one-day tickets, three-day, monthly and season passes are also available. An adult three-day pass costs Dh260, a monthly pass costs Dh350 and a seasonal ticket costs Dh595. Meanwhile, student tickets are Dh130 for three days, Dh175 for a month and Dh297 for a season pass.
