AL AIN // Two men have been arrested over a fight in which a knife was allegedly drawn. A witness called 999 about 4am on Friday to report a fight outside of a hotel in Al Jimi. Read article Both were arrested and one was taken to Al Ain Hospital to be treated for a stab wound to one of his hands. Maj Mubarak Al Saboosi, the head of Al Jimi District Police, praised the efforts of the passer-by who reported the fight. "Had it not been for this individual's call to 999 and the police's quick response, the incident could have had a far worse outcome," Maj Al Saboosi said. Col Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, the head of Al Ain Police, criticised the men for allegedly using violence to resolve the disagreement instead of calling police. "We live in a state of law and justice," said Col Al Rashidi. "We should not solve our differences among ourselves, as the law is there to settle them for us. "It determines the right of each party and ensures that they receive justice."
