RAK toddler who fell from 10th floor returns home 'in good health'

Toddler Leen Farghali, who fell from the 10th floor of an apartment block in Ras Al Khaimah last month, has been discharged from hospital and has returned home. Just 19 months old, Leen suffered severe injuries after falling from the living room window of her family home on February 17 and landing on the windscreen of a car parked below. She was rushed to Saqr Hospital, where she received treatment for multiple fractures and severe head trauma in an intensive care unit before being airlifted to Tawam Hospital in Al Ain for further treatment. Doctors believe the vehicle broke her landing and may have saved her life. Mahmoud Farghali, 32, the girl's father, told The National that she was discharged from Tawam hospital on Thursday and is in good health. “Thank God Leen is back home with us,” he said. “The doctors discharged her from the hospital as she has recovered from most of the injuries. She now has to wear a neck brace for around three months and will need to visit a neurologist next month. “We are very happy to have her back home in good health." After the incident, Civil Defence said that the window the girl fell from did not meet minimum safety requirements and revealed plans to conduct safety checks on windows across the emirate.
