As everyone returns to the roads for the start of the week, long tailbacks were delaying motorists on the major routes from Sharjah into Dubai.
On the 311 southbound, it was heavy going from before the National Paints area until Dubai airport.
Motorists also faced delays on the E11 from Safeer Mall until near the Dubai Police headquarters.
In Abu Dhabi, motorists faced delays on Salam Street heading into the city.
It was also heavy going on the Maqta Bridge heading into the capital and on the E20 city-bound close to Abu Dhabi Gate City.
