ABU DHABI // The draft bylaws for the country’s new child protection laws are being finalised, say officials. Iman Abdullah, director of the Social Protection Division at the Ministry of Social Development said the bylaws for the Childs Rights Law, formerly known as Wadeema’s Law, would be released in September. The laws include creating shelters for child victims of violence and abuse in every emirate, reported <em>Aletihad</em>, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of <em>The National.</em> Isam Ali, head of social policies for the GCC at the United Nations Children’s Fund said his organisation was willing to assist in implementing the laws. newsdesk@thenational.ae
