Police reduced speed limits as vast parts of the UAE woke to thick patches of fog on Sunday. An early morning alert was issued as fog descended on a large area in the eastern half of the country, from the coast to the southern border. Abu Dhabi Police warned drivers to be careful. Authorities reduced the speed limit to 80kph on the Abu Dhabi to Al Ain road. The fog is expected to clear by 9.30am, leaving a partly cloudy day with rising temperatures. Abu Dhabi and Dubai will record a high of 25°C owing to a high pressure system, according to the National Centre of Meteorology. Winds will be light in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, with breezes of up to 20kph. The weather will remain fair for most of the week, but increasing humidity in the evenings and overnight will create the risk of further mist and fog. Thursday could bring a drop in temperature combined with dusty and partly cloudy conditions caused by gusty winds.
