Weather: Fine day in store but beware of blowing dust later

Early morning mist will clear to leave mostly sunny skies across much of the UAE on Wednesday with daytime temperatures forecast to peak at 40°C by noon.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are likely to enjoy a fine, hot day with more cloud and haze developing in the Northern Emirates.

Eastern areas are also more likely to experience a build-up of cloud through the afternoon, with a slight risk of a light shower in the Fujairah region, but it will remain hot for many with temperatures into the high 30s.

Light winds from the north could become gusts throughout the day, bringing the added risk of blowing dust that could affect visibility for drivers in some exposed areas. Wind speeds could reach 25 km per hour in places.

Humidity will increase through the evening and with it the chance of further accumulation of fog and mist, particularly in coastal areas.

Similar weather patterns are forecast for much of the country on Thursday with another hot and sunny day in store.
