ABU DHABI// A man sued his wife for a “disturbance” after she phoned him pretending to be another woman to uncover if he was cheating on her.
The appeals court heard that the woman, an Emirati, suspected her husband was having an affair. So, she purchased a new sim card then made a flirtatious call to him using a disguised voice.
After she kept refusing to meet him, her husband suspected it was his wife calling him the entire time.
He reported her to police for disturbing him.
The defence attorney argued that his client said nothing to disturb him. He said: “Her words revolved around admiration and love which is beautiful talk that cannot fall under disturbance.”
He pledged for his client’s acquittal adding that no person could feel disturbed from such words.
A verdict will be announced on February 27.
