Yemeni troops liberated Al Garahi district from the Iranian-backed Houthis as they look to recapture Hodeidah, one of the country's biggest port cities under rebel control.
This comes as the forces, backed by the Arab coalition, liberated Al Khourkhah and Haiys districts in the Hodeidah province.
The spokesman for the western front, Col Naser Al Redhami, told The National that troops affiliated with the public resistance in Tihama advanced to cut a crucial supply route.
"The Houthis are suffering very big losses in Hodeidah after losing control of another main supplies route, which stretches from Ibb in the west of Al Hodeidah to Al Garahi and Zabeed in Hodeidah," Col Al Radhami said.

"That has aggravated their already weakened situation after losing the supply line linking Taez with Al Hodeidah as the army troops, along with the Arab coalition forces, captured Haiys last month."
The colonel told The National more forces will be committed to Hodeidah as a new front is to be opened in the next few days by Maj Gen Tariq Mohammed Abdullah, nephew of the recently deceased former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
This comes as Arab Coalition jets launched several air strikes on Monday targeting Houthi militia deployments. On Monday, strikes killed 12 rebel militants - among them a field leader called Abdulgabar Sharaf Abu Mohammed — according to the military-run news site 26 September.
In the outskirts of Al Garahi district 29 Houthis were killed and more than 10 were wounded amid fierce fighting with army troops backed by the Arab Coalition air strikes on Monday.
In the northern region of Yemen, coalition jets "launched strikes targeting reinforcements and gatherings for the Houthis in the outskirts of Serwah area between Marib and Sana'a on Monday night", according to Al Arabiya net.

Sheikh Zayed's poem
When it is unveiled at Abu Dhabi Art, the Standing Tall exhibition will appear as an interplay of poetry and art. The 100 scarves are 100 fragments surrounding five, figurative, female sculptures, and both sculptures and scarves are hand-embroidered by a group of refugee women artisans, who used the Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery art of tatreez. What is Financial Fair Play?
Introduced in 2011 by Uefa, European football’s governing body, it demands that clubs live within their means. Chiefly, spend within their income and not make substantial losses.

What is the definition of an SME?
SMEs in the UAE are defined by the number of employees, annual turnover and sector.
