Tashkeel was first established in 2008 by Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum in a bid to encourage the local arts scene, providing a nurturing environment for the growth of contemporary art and design from the UAE. They do this through an annual programme of training, residencies, talks, exhibitions, collaborations, publications and workshops that the team does this.
