<em>6 Underground</em>, the Netflix film shot in the UAE, finally has a release date. Star of the movie Ryan Reynolds revealed to his Twitter followers that the movie would start streaming on Netflix on Friday, December 13, a year after filming wrapped in the Emirates. The <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/arts-culture/film/six-underground-starring-ryan-reynolds-to-be-shot-in-abu-dhabi-1.765451">month-long shoot</a> for the thriller took place at various locations across the country, including the Liwa desert, Sharjah, and Ras al Khaimah. There were also a number of high-octane scenes shot on Abu Dhabi's Reem Island, including an <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/arts-culture/film/watch-ryan-reynolds-6-underground-films-explosive-car-chase-in-abu-dhabi-1.792601">explosive car chase sequence</a> which was captured on film by residents living in the City of Lights. At the time of filming, Reynolds said shooting in Abu Dhabi was one of the highlights of the production, adding that he could not wait to explore the capital. He was joined <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/arts-culture/film/blake-lively-joins-husband-ryan-reynolds-in-abu-dhabi-1.793347">during the shoot by his wife</a>, actress Blake Lively, and the pair were spotted dining at BBQ Al Qasr in Emirates Palace along with other members of the cast and crew. The film, from the makers of the <em>Deadpool</em> fanchise, also stars Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Corey Hawkins, Adria Arjona, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Payman Maadi and Lior Raz. Michael Bay, who's known for <em>The Rock</em> and the <em>Transformers</em> franchise, directed the film, which has been described as a collision of <em>Deadpool</em> and <em>Mission Impossible</em>, which sounds intriguing if nothing else. It is the most expensive film ever produced by Netflix, with a budget of around $125 million (Dh460 million). A trailer for <em>6 Underground </em>is expected to drop soon.
