Burj Park is set to host a huge musical extravaganza to promote the forthcoming Indian movie 2.0, the sequel to 2010s Anthiran, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar on October 27. The event will feature an appearance by Rajinikanth, making his first ever appearance at an overseas promotion for one of his movies, and will be headlined by composer and Oscar winner A R Rahman, performing tracks from the movie live in concert, accompanied by a 55-piece symphonic orchestra. Other highlights of the show will include appearances by the film's co-stars and crew, including director S Shankar, and further performances including 2.0's female lead Amy Jackson, choreographed by Bosco Martis, India's leading choreographer, and backed by a troupe of over 50 dancers. The extravaganza looks set to be one of the biggest launches for an Indian film ever, appropriately enough for a film that claims to be India’s biggest to date, with a budget of around $90M. The event is free to attend, and the venue can accommodate an anticipated 6,000 spectators, with giant screens also being erected at Burj Plaza and the Waterfront Promenade to ensure that no one misses out on the spectacle. Allirajah Subaskaran, chairman of Lycamobile, the parent company of the film’s producers, Lyca Productions, commented: “Film-making is my passion, and Lyca Productions is here to produce great movies. I am confident our investments will take Tamil and Indian cinema to world-class standards.” Free tickets, restricted to four tickets per person, will be available for pre-order soon at www.2pointzeroaudiolaunch.com.
