Oscar-nominated Lebanese director Nadine Labaki is scheduled to attend and take part in a discussion at Dubai's first Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert festival, a four-day event which kicks off today. She will take part in a discussion session on Thursday, March 5 at 5pm. She is among the industry professionals participating at the festival that also includes Ali Hatem, Jamal Al Sherif and Mohammed Saeed Harib. The festival, which takes place at Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, will include screenings of both Emirati and international films, workshops and panel discussions. Among the films showing is <em>Sharp Tools</em>, a documentary film by Emirati director Nujoom Al Ghanem, <em>You Will Die at 20 </em>by Sudanese director Amjad Abu Alala and Oscar-nominated film <em>Theeb </em>by Naji Abu Nowar.
