Whether it's rapper The Notorious BIG getting the long-overdue documentary treatment, or British Spider-Man actor Tom Holland showing off his acting chops without the spidey suit, these five original films, documentaries and TV shows should be on your list for March… Already winning rave reviews, this Netflix documentary follows the life and career of rapper The Notorious BIG, real name Christopher Wallace, who was shot dead at the age of 24 in the late 1990s East Coast-West Coast rap war. Focusing on the life of the rap legend rather than his untimely death, the in-depth documentary weaves legendary performances, home movies, interviews and old news footage to fully flesh out a man who has for too long been defined by the circumstances of his passing. Available now Directed by and starring comedy legend Amy Poehler, Moxie is a great big ol' pie in the face for the patriarchy and a timely celebration of women supporting women. Set within the confines of high school, Vivian Carter (Hadley Robinson) gathers the girls to declare war on sexism when they grow tired of being objectified by the jocks (look out for Patrick Schwarzenegger as Mitchell Wilson) and having their concerns ignored by the staff, inspired by her rebel mum, Lisa (Poehler). Available now A full 33 years after Prince Akeem and his wisecracking sidekick Semmi headed to New York to find the royal a bride, Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall return. When his father King Jaffe dies, he tells Akeem that he has a son he has never met. Cue Akeem and a reluctant Semmi boarding the gold Learjet and heading back to the Big Apple to find Akeem's lost heir. As a bonus, there's also Wesley Snipes and Wakanda references. Available from Friday Tom Holland casts off his wisecracking Spider-Man alter-ego to sink his teeth into meatier fare in this Apple TV+ original. Holland plays the eponymous Cherry, a disenfranchised young man who drops out of college to serve in Iraq as an army medic. Although he tries to return to civilian life with his girlfriend, Emily (Ciara Bravo), undiagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder sees him spiral into addiction and get involved in a bank robbery in this unflinching, though at times darkly funny, very different coming-of-age tale. Available from Friday, March 12 We're now entering phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – or MCU for short – and the hugely anticipated The Falcon and the Winter Soldier brings together fan favourites Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier). This six-episode show picks up where Avengers: Endgame left off: with Captain America's shield in the hands of Wilson, who teams up with Barnes to do Cap proud as they come up against the anti-patriotism group the Flag-Smashers. Beginning on Friday, March 19, with episodes released weekly until Friday, April 23 ___________________ Read more: Where to watch Golden Globe-winning films and shows in the UAE: from 'Soul' to 'The Mauritanian' 10 international shows to stream in the UAE: from France's 'Lupin' to South Korea's 'Vagabond' 12 wildlife documentaries to watch in the UAE: from 'My Octopus Teacher' to 'Surviving Joe Exotic' ___________________
