Taylor Swift has finally joined TikTok, and if her first post is anything to go by, she's going to excel on the video-sharing app. Leaning into the fact that each of her albums have different aesthetics, she posted a video in four different looks, channelling the essence of her albums <i>folklore</i>, <i>evermore</i>, <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/arts-culture/music/taylor-swift-releases-unheard-song-from-fearless-era-1.1191653" target="_blank"><i>Fearless</i></a> and <i>Red</i>. The video comes ahead of the release of her re-recording of <i>Red</i>, which is due out on November 19. “Lots going on at the moment,” Swift, 31, captioned the post. “<i>Red</i> (my version) vinyl is up for pre-sale on my site and oh I’m on TikTok now let the games begin. #SwiftTok.” In the video, she mimes to a rap from <i>Screwface Capital</i>, by British grime artist Dave, in which he references Swift. “I made a link with the Russians / Six figure discussions, dinners in public / My linen all tailored / My outstanding payments swift like Taylor / And boy I owe ‘dem men a beatin’,” Dave, born David Orobosa Omoregie, raps in the 2019 release. At the time of writing, the upload was Swift's sole post on TikTok, but had already earned 1.4 million likes and 188,200 comments, and the singer herself now has 1.4 million followers. A sign of what her account could become, her TikTok biography reads: "This is pretty much just a cat account." Swift is currently <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/arts-culture/music/taylor-swift-announces-rerecorded-version-of-love-story-is-dropping-this-weekend-1.1164550" target="_blank">re-recording</a> each of her albums, after her former record label, Big Machine, sold her back catalogue to <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/arts-culture/music/scooter-braun-claims-he-offered-to-sell-taylor-swift-back-her-first-six-albums-it-s-very-unfortunate-1.1248032" target="_blank">Scooter Braun</a>'s Ithaca Holdings. Braun sold Swift's masters to another company, Shamrock Holdings, for a reported $300 million in 2019.
