Egyptian pop king Amr Diab will ring in the new year at Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Island. Known to his fans as ‘Al Hadaba’, the 57-year-old, will perform his bevy of hits on an outdoor stage in the entertainment district's promenade. He will be supported that night by Dubai-based Lebanese singer Myriam Fares. There is a reason why Diab's shows are a perennial sellout. Backed by a cracking band comfortable playing both Arabic pop as well as Latin styles such as flamenco, Diab is a slick and energetic performer and is equally at home singing the upbeat pop of Amarain, as well as romantic ballads such as Tamally Ma'ak. The concert announcement solidifies Al Maryah Island as a go-to NYE destination for Abu Dhabi families and Arabic music lovers. Not only is the promenade lined with market stalls selling everything from food to exotic fashion-wear, the last few years saw the district hosting killer year-end concerts featuring the cream of Arabic talent, including Emirati star Hussein Al Jassmi and Iraqi crooner Kadim Al Saher. With the concert being free of charge, and a large crowd expected, fans are encouraged to arrive at the venue from 5pm to land a prime viewing location. Here's a few more Amr Diab hits that we expect to be played in Abu Dhabi: Amr Diab and Myriam Fares will perform at Al Maryah Island on December 31. Doors opens at 5:00 pm, DJ and concerts start at 7:00 pm, and fireworks at 12:00 am. ____________ Read more: Macklemore and Camila Cabello to headline Redfest DXB 2019 'We all deal with our own demons' Dinah from Fifth Harmony tells us days before hiatus announcement Album review: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are too self-absorbed to have any fun Album review: Camila Cabello's debut proves she's here to stay ____________
