The Emirates Youth Orchestra is gearing up for what will be an eventful few months. The ensemble will team up with US violinist Elli Choi for a concert on Saturday, November 16 in Dubai’s One and Only Royal Mirage. This comes on the back of today's announcement that they will take part in the 2020 Abu Dhabi Festival with a performance at NYU Abu Dhabi on Monday, April 6. Established in 1994 by Syrian-Czech violinist Riad Kudsi, the ensemble was one of the earliest classical music groups in the UAE and has performed at various festivals over the years. The players are top-notch, too, as the orchestra has an accreditation with the Premiere Music College of Prague. They will be joined by guest artist Choi on Saturday. The 18-year-old is viewed as an immense talent, having reaching the finals of this year’s Montreal Violin Competition, in addition to being the youngest participant of the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, which concluded in June. The Emirates Youth Orchestra and Choi will take on a programme that includes Bizet's Carmen Prelude for Symphony Orchestra and Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major. Emirates Youth Orchestra and Elli Choi.
