A concert by former <em>Arab Idol </em>winner Mohammed Assaf and Jordanian singer-songwriter Omar Al Abdallat has been rescheduled due to <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/uae/environment/chance-of-hail-and-even-frost-later-this-week-uae-forecasters-warn-1.961491">unusual weather conditions</a> in the UAE. The event was set to take place on Friday, January 10, at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, but the venue has put out a statement saying that the concert has been moved to Friday, January 24. “Given the weather forecast on Friday, the date of Mohammed Assaf and Omar Al-Abdallat concert has been moved to January 24, for the safety of all. Thank you for understanding. Please note that the tickets you’ve previously purchased will remain valid for entrance on the 24th,” the official statement reads. According to forecasters, some parts of the UAE could have unusual weather starting from Thursday, January 9. Heavy rain, hailstones and even frost has been forecasted in some parts of the country. In a video posted on Twitter by the National Centre of Meteorology, forecaster Amna Al Zaabi said the unstable spell was expected to last until Monday. The change in schedule may inconvenience fans who have also bought tickets for the <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/arts-culture/music/amr-diab-in-dubai-the-egyptian-singer-is-set-to-return-to-the-uae-next-january-1.919887">Amr Diab Live concert</a> which is taking place on the same date in Dubai. The Egyptian pop star will be playing his hits at an outdoor concert at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on January 24. The concert featuring the duo was part of the new season of #letsmajaz, which will be hosting other top International and Arab artists in the coming months. Other singers who have been announced as part of the #letsmajaz series are Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, who will be performing on Friday, January 17, and Syrian singer Nassif Zeytoun, who will take the stage on Friday, March 27.
