Base Dubai is hosting two revered names of the Reggaeton and house music scene this weekend. Friday, October 25, will see Puerto Rican singer and producer Nicky Jam making his debut UAE performance. Over his 25 year career - he recorded his debut album as a mere 14-year-old - Jam played a major role in taking the nascent reggaeton genre from its underground roots to the global power house it is today. Expect a smattering of hits to be performed in Dubai, including Travesuras, El Amante and Hasta el Amanecer. Released in 2015, the catchy latter track has amassed over one billion streams on YouTube. Kicking off the weekend on Thursday, October 24 is Roger Sanchez. The US DJ is no stranger to the UAE, having performed in various clubs and festivals for nearly a decade. The four-time DJ Awards' Best House DJ winner will showcase his high-energy sound that includes remixes for superstars Madonna, Daft Punk and The Police. Sanchez is also known for his singles including 2003 hit Another Chance. Sanchez’s performance is part of Base Dubai’s recently launched house music nights, running each Thursday. The series began on October 3 with Chilean Swiss DJ Luciano on the decks. Doors open at 11pm. To reserve call 055 313 4999. Base, Dubai Design District.
