Michael Rosenberg is bringing his award-winning sounds to the UAE later this year, with the British singer-songwriter set to perform at Dubai Opera. The musician, who performs under the stage name Passenger, will put on a show for fans at the Downtown Dubai venue on Wednesday, November 20. Rosenberg was the main vocalist and songwriter of the band Passenger, and chose to keep the name when the group parted ways in 2009. As a soloist, he's released numerous albums, spawning hits such as Let Her Go (which has garnered more than two billion views on YouTube), Hell or High Water and Heart's On Fire. The Brit and Ivor Novello award winner released his 12th studio album, Sometimes It's Something, Sometimes It's Nothing at All, earlier this year, announcing that profits from its sale would go to UK homeless charity Shelter. Announcing his upcoming performance, Jasper Hope, chief executive of Dubai Opera, paid tribute to Rosenberg's lyrical penmanship. “After incredible concerts by truly great singer-songwriters like James Morrison, Rufus Wainwright and Suzanne Vega among others, it’s very exciting to be able to announce that next up at Dubai Opera is the phenomenal Passenger, whose music is known the world-over after a decade of extraordinary solo success," he said. Tickets for the show go on sale at 5pm on Thursday, 11 July, with prices starting at Dh195. An early bird discount of 20 per cent will apply to VIP seats levels one and two, when bought by July 25. For more information or to buy tickets, visit www.dubaiopera.com, Virgin Megastores UAE and www.dubai.platinumlist.net
