Fans of Steve Aoki don't need to change their weekend party plans. The popular American DJ will be performing at White Dubai on Friday, October 4. This comes after news that the event in which he was originally due to play in that same night, Bao Festival at Meydan Grand Stand, was nixed by organised earlier this week. Fans of Aoki should be pleased. A festival favourite, this will be the chance to see the veteran spinner perform in a more intimate environment. There is no doubt that Aoki is up for it, as he knows the UAE crowds well. A regular performer in Dubai, the dance music veteran will bring his raucous and colourful live sets that are filled with hits including Azukita, Waste it on Me (featuring K-pop giants BTS), and Delirious. Aoki has been busy off the stage as well. In addition to publishing February's memoir Blue: The Colour of Noise, he has also been raising funds for his own Aoki Foundation. Launched in 2012, it aims to supports various medical research into Alzheimer's and other brain conditions. Aoki has found creative ways to support the organisation. Last month he raised $250,000 (Dh918,300) by launching the first ever Aoki Games. Held in a Las Vegas Park, attendees competed in various events ranging from competitive Twister, table tennis, video games and a three-part race. Aoki was the event's host and, of course, ensured only the best tunes were played throughout the day.
