Stone Temple Pilots cancel Dubai gig

The Stone Temple Pilots have cancelled their appearance at the Dubai Jazz Festival, according to their Australian promoters.

The California grunge rockers, led by new frontman Chester Bennington, were due to perform at Dubai Festival City Park on February 13 before travelling to Australia to headline the Soundwave Festival that starts on February 22.

Soundwave representatives released an official statement today confirming the band’s decision to “regretfully cancel all upcoming shows”.

“The recording of the new album has now gone beyond schedule and sadly the availability of the recording studio, engineers and the producer or lack thereof dictates that the band have had to cancel their upcoming engagements,” the statement said.

Dubai Jazz Festival organisers were not available to confirm the cancellation and a replacement act.
