The 1975 is the latest music act to perform in the recently opened Coca-Cola Arena. The English pop-rock band will play for the first time in the Middle East at the City Walk venue on August 14, as part of their latest world tour. Tickets will go on sale at 5pm today from www.the1975dxb.com UAE fans will catch the group at the peak of their popularity. They recently delivered star-turning sets at some of the world’s biggest music gatherings including Coachella and Lollapalooza in the US and the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals. A lot of that attention is down to their latest and third album, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, which saw them refine their soulful pop sound and in turn dropped a pack of hits including Give Yourself a Try and Love It If We Made It. In addition to topping the UK charts, the release went on to win album of the year at the Brit Awards in February. The new concert announcement comes a day before the first music act will perform at the arena. With the venue officially opened on June 6 with a set by popular comedian Russell Peters, the arena will truly come to its own on June 13 when Maroon 5 play to a sold out crowd of 17,000 fans. _________________ Read more: Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena: a guide to getting there, where to sit, eat, pray and more Eminem returns to Abu Dhabi with massive show _________________
