The world’s most popular musical and the longest-running show in Broadway history will make its Middle East debut in autumn 2019. The musical features classics songs, such as Think of Me and The Music of the Night. The show, which has a cast of 130, has won seven Tony Awards and four Olivier Awards, while earlier this year it celebrated its 13,000th performance. "The Phantom of the Opera is a musical theatre phenomenon," said Jasper Hope, chief executive of Dubai Opera. "Audiences will love the original London production of this brilliant story of romance and intrigue with its breathtaking special effects, set to Andrew Lloyd Webber's hauntingly beautiful score." Liz Koops, the chief executive of Broadway Entertainment Group, the company responsible for bringing show to Dubai, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing this legendary Broadway musical to the Middle East for the very first time. For a limited time only, theatre lovers can expect to witness an unforgettable and remarkable performance as they become immersed in this classic love story and immortal musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber – this is one not to be missed.” For more information and to pre-register, visit www.dubaiopera.com ________________ Read more: 'The Nutcracker and I' at Dubai Opera: a classic tale for the digital age Abu Dhabi Festival announces line-up of major performances for 2019 Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi to become the first Arab artist to perform at the Vatican's annual Christmas concert ________________
