Kensington Palace has announced that media royalty and actual royalty, Oprah and Prince Harry, are teaming up on an upcoming television project. The pair are set to be working on a mental health documentary series with Apple. They will serve as co-creators and executive producers. "The multi-part documentary series will focus on both mental illness and mental wellness, inspiring viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges each of us faces, and how to equip ourselves with the tools to thrive, rather than to simply survive," Kensington Palace has announced. Adding: "This commitment builds on The Duke’s long-standing work on issues and initiatives regarding mental health, that has seen him share his personal experience and advocate for those who silently suffer, to empower them to get the help and support they deserve." Oprah is a friend of Prince Harry's wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. She was one of the many famous attendees at their May 2018 wedding. It is said that at the wedding, the famed interviewer "spent a long time chatting" with Markle's mother, Doria Ragland. They are also said to have been planning "a tell-all interview" tackling the racist abuse that the Duchess has endured since announcing her relationship with Prince Harry. Along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry founded Heads Together, a charity foundation working to normalise mental health conversation. The royal has been very frank about his battle with mental health in recent years. "I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well," he said on The Telegraph's Mad World podcast in 2017. "I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle."
