As first reported in The National two weeks ago, the Dubai Government is planning to put the merger of Amlak Finance and Tamweel on the back burner while it "re-activates" each company in the coming weeks.
Emirates 24/7 follows up on this today, reporting that an announcement about the merger would be made soon. Nasser al Shaikh, director general of the Dubai Department of Finance and Chairman of Amlak Finance, tells Karen Remo-Listana that "The road is paved to the merger and we have a common agreement between the two boards and the two management teams, and at the end it will be the shareholders decision".
